Appointments
All dogs and cats must be leashed or in a carrier anytime they are on the property or in the waiting room at Sutton Animal Hospital. This ensures the safety of all of our patients and clients while they are visiting Sutton Animal Hospital. If you forgot your leash or carrier, please come inside and we can lend you one for your visit. No retractable leashes please.
When scheduling appointments for two or more pets on the same day, please give us 24 hours notice for any cancellation or rescheduling of the appointment. If not, a cancellation charge may be applied to your account.
Emergency appointments and illness visits will be accommodated to the best of our ability. Please note that we are willing to see patients that require medical attention on short notice, however, there may be a wait as we fit you into the schedule. Also please be aware, due to emergencies, regularly scheduled appointments can run behind schedule. We will do our best to inform all clients of any delays.
Some emergencies require specialized care and 24-hour monitoring of the patient. In these instances, we may refer your pet to a specialty or emergency hospital.
New Patients
Prescriptions
Prescription medications can only be legally prescribed to an animal that is a current patient, one that has been seen in the last calendar year. This does include heartworm prevention.
All refills require a veterinarian’s authorization, so please give us sufficient time to refill medications. Also note that certain prescriptions require medical monitoring and tests may be required before a prescription can be refilled. Your veterinarian will discuss any medical plans when medications are prescribed.
We do not communicate directly with online pharmacies. If you would like a written prescription to be filled at a pharmacy of your choice, please call the office and we will prepare one for you. Please use caution when purchasing medications from online pharmacies. Here is a link to the FDA website on what to look out for: Purchasing Pet Drugs Online: Buyer Beware.
Please call ahead for any refills or if you have any questions about your pet’s medication.
Payment
Payment for all services is due at the time of the appointment. Acceptable forms of payment are cash, VISA, MasterCard, Discover and American Express. We no longer accept personal checks. We will gladly supply an estimate for any services you wish to have for our current patients.
*Note that we will not store credit card information at any time.
